A catalytic converter is a device that uses a catalyst to convert three harmful compounds produce by unburned gasoline in vehicle exhaust into harmless compounds. Simply stated, it burns the excess gas that the vehicle's engine did not burn during the combustion.

Now the question is, why didn't the engine completely burn the gasoline in the first place?

The answer to that question holds the key to our financial freedom. A long time ago, auto makers decided to create a device called Catalytic Converter, the device that help appease the environmentalists and the oil companies.

Now do you know that the efficiency of a combustible engine is only about 20%? In other words, if you fill up your gas tank for $100, you are only using $18 worth to actually run your car and throwing the rest away through the catalytic converter and the exhaust.

So we all have a lot of work ahead of us to save ourselves $700 Billion a year. This is the amount of money we transfer to oil producing countries for their oil every year.
